Soil, Seeds & Fun!

Did you know you could make “bombs” with flowers and plants? Seed bombs that is!

In Green Club this March, we made three kinds of seed bombs:

  • Fence Bombs with colourful morning glories and scarlet runner beans (climbers),
  • Kale Bombs with black, purple and green kale, and
  • Pollinator Bombs using poppies, black eyed Susan and a butterfly mix.

We chose these plants because they don’t need much care to grow, thrive and bloom. We saved the bombs to throw around the schoolyard once the snow is gone. Ms. Scrocca, our Principal, has given us permission to spread them all along the fence by the main entrance!

This sounds fun! For your next bombs, I’d recommend trying out some native plant seed!
